Abstract

A study of 52 students in basic laboratory, relaxation, and dancing conditions is analyzed to argue for robust but small effects of Neuroticism and Extraversion upon average mood despite significant mood changes between the conditions. The influence of these personality variables was pervasive rather than reactive and in a pattern suggesting their mutual involment in bipolar general mood.
