Abstract
Control through VaccinationThe Asian-influenza experience also gives evidence that known control measures, especially vaccination, were applied effectively among employed persons, often through well established occupational-health programs. Gottlieb59 vaccinated 94.3 per cent of 2893 employees at the Missile and Ordnance Systems Department of General Electric in Philadelphia. He used a 1-ml. dose of 200 chick-cell agglutination (CCA) units of monovalent vaccine against Asian influenza subcutaneously, and virtually completed all immunizations by September 22, 1957.
