Abstract
Los trastornos de la conducta alimentaria (TCA) son conocidos desde tiempos remotos en la civilizacion occidental, encontrandose ya referencias en la literatura que describe a los primeros santos cristianos (como la conducta de intenso ayuno y los atracones de santa Catalina de Siena) (1). Si bien los atracones y las purgas son bien descritos en la civilizacion romana, el trastorno de bulimia nerviosa, como se define actualmente, no esta del todo bien documentado.
