Abstract

Reasoning and decision-making depend on large-scale neural systems that involve varied regions throughout the cerebral cortex and subcortical nuclei. The contributions in this volume, however, focus on a few of these regions, mostly in the frontal lobe. The purpose of this first chapter is to review the macroscopic anatomy of some of those structures.
