Abstract A self-administered questionnaire survey was conducted among 74 women admitted consecutively to the gynaecological unit at The Ulster Hospital in Belfast, to investigate their satisfaction with the hospital management of their miscarriage. The women reported that some aspects of die medical care they had received were inadequate. Two problem areas in particular were identified; these concerned the information and advice given to women at the time of hospital discharge and the attitude of the medical staff.
