Abstract

Diplomacy of Power presents a systematic account of Soviet use of force in 190 incidents since World War II. These military operations were intended to expand and preserve authority in areas adjacent to the Soviet Union, to influence other Communist regimes, to respond to Western and Chines Actions, to counter threatening developments in neighboring nations, and to foster favorable relations with emerging countries.
