Abstract

•Rare insight into the effectiveness of a pulmonary rehabilitation in asthma.•Pulmonary rehabilitation in asthma has beneficial effects.•Asthma control can be significantly improved with pulmonary rehabilitation.•Clinically relevant benefits to asthma control in moderate and severe asthma patients. Patients with asthma significantly increase asthma control over a comprehensive three-week inpatient pulmonary rehabilitation-program. Especially individuals with moderate and severe asthma can achieve clinically relevant changes in asthma control test.
