Abstract
A landmark study called the Human Development Report 1990 was brought out by the United Nations Development Program in May 1990. The report's contributions were in providing a definition and measurement of human development, policy analysis, and several recommendations. This paper reviews and assesses these three aspects. A few suggestions are offered on the directions and coverage of the future annual editions of the Human Development Report.
