Abstract

Evolution is understood to be the process of transformation of organic systems driven by spontaneous mutations and controlled by selection. In most cases selection is considered to be a force exerted by the environment. Although theoretically sound concepts of selection have been put forward by Bock (1959),Hecht (1965), Bock and von Wahlert (1965), Cizek and Hodanova (1971), and Eigen (1971), adaptation and selection are still looked upon predominantly from the environmental point of view.
