Abstract
Spontaneous panic attacks occured in three anxious female patients during the course of polygraphic recording in a laboratory situation. The concomitant physiological changes are described. Cardiovascular measures and skin conductance showed parallel effects whereas the electromyogram correlated poorly with the other measures. The panic attacks were self-limiting.
