Abstract

Much has been said, much has been written, and much has been done for decades now in an attempt to solve what we today call the narcotics dilemma. This problem is many faceted. There are social, political, economic, historical, and health factors to consider. There are professional roles that must be defined. There is the increasing reliance on objects and things rather than on people which merits great concern and vigilance. Finally. there is the general background of misinformation, stereotypy. and lack of communication which influences theory, research, and practice
