Abstract

AbstractThe concepts of needs assessment and case management are a cornerstone of the British Government's community care social policy, but they lack definitional precision. Although they hold many attractions for social workers, psychologists and other professional groups, several areas of tension and role conflict have been reported. Attempts to address the dilemmas and implications for training are examined.
