Abstract

The Stanford Five City Project (FCP) is a major community-based experiment being carried out by the Stanfort Heart Disease Prevention Program (SHDPP). The SHDPP, a multidisciplinary group of medical, communication, and education researchers, has carried out research in cardiovascular disease risk reduction since 1971. The group was brought together to carry out the Stanford Three Community Study (TCS). The FCP is a natural outgrowth of our previous work and the TCS.
