Higher education: a policy statement

Abstract

This policy statement outlines the Australian Commonwealth Government’s strategy for the long-term development of Australia’s higher education system. The release of ‘Higher education: a policy discussion paper’ in December 1987 led to a process of intensive community discussion and debate on the roles and objectives of the higher education system.
