Abstract
The projected continuing increase in use of fossil fuels and the associated increase in atmospheric CO/sub 2/ are expected to cause shifts in agriculture productivity due to climatic change. Although the change in total productivity is expected to be less severe than originally estimated, the predominantly agricultural countries of the developing world could suffer considerable economic losses. Prevention of or compensation for such evantualities present challenging policy questions for the industrialized countries.
