Selection for Action: Some Behavioral and Neurophysiological Considerations of Attention and Action

Abstract

This chapter is about the processes that selectively couple perception to action (or sensory processing to motor control). It is to be emphasized that the ideas put forward are in a very preliminary stage of development. My intention in this chapter is to focus discussion on some of the issues involved, rather than to put forward a fully fledged theory of selection-for-action.
