Abstract
In this paper we discuss the design and implementation of voiD, the “Vocabulary Of Interlinked Datasets”, a vocabulary that allows to formally describe linked RDF datasets. We report on use cases for voiD, the current state of the specification and its potential applications in the context of linked datasets. 1.

Lecture notes in computer scienceQuerying Distributed RDF Data Sources with SPARQL
498 Citations2008Bastian Quilitz, Ulf Leser
DARQ provides transparent query access to multiple SPARQL services, i.e., it gives the user the impression to query one single RDF graph despite the real data being distributed on the web, and uses query rewriting and cost-based query optimization to speed up query execution.
Tabulator: Exploring and Analyzing linked data on the Semantic Web
436 Citations2006Tim Berners‐Lee, Yu-Hsin Chen +6 more
The Tabulator project is an attempt to demonstrate and utilize the power of linked RDF data with a user-friendly Semantic Web browser that is able to recognize and follow RDF links to other RDF resources based on the user’s exploration and analysis.
Linked data on the web (LDOW2008)
385 Citations2008Christian Bizer, Tom Heath +2 more
This workshop summary will outline the technical context in which Linked Data is situated, describe developments in the past year through initiatives such as the Linking Open Data community project, and look ahead to the workshop itself.
Lecture notes in computer scienceSindice.com: Weaving the Open Linked Data
275 Citations2007Giovanni Tummarello, Renaud Delbru +1 more
Sindice, a lookup index over resources crawled on the Semantic Web, allows applications to automatically retrieve sources with information about a given resource and allows resource retrieval through inverse-functional properties.
The Distributed Link Service: A Tool for Publishers, Authors, and Readers
167 Citations1995Leslie Carr, David De Roure +2 more
A hypermedia link service that is based entirely on standard Web browsers and servers and is being used successfully in a spectrum of Web projects is described.
Bulletin of the American Society for Information Science and TechnologyThe Dublin Core: A Simple Content Description Model for Electronic Resources
149 Citations1997Stuart Weibel
The Dublin Core is a 15-element metadata element set intended to facilitate discovery of electronic resources that was originally conceived for author-generated description of Web resources.
Data Science JournalData publication in the open access initiative
107 Citations2006Jens Klump, Roland Bertelmann +8 more
The 'Berlin Declaration' was published in 2003 as a guideline to policy makers to promote the Internet as a functional instrument for a global scientific knowledge base and today, access to scientific data is hampered by structural deficits in the publication process.
Lecture notes in computer scienceThe SPARQL Query Graph Model for Query Optimization
80 Citations2007Olaf Hartig, Ralf Heese
This paper proposed the SPARQL query graph model (SQGM) supporting all phases of query processing, and defined transformations rules to simplify and to rewrite a query.
Lecture notes in computer scienceSCOVO: Using Statistics on the Web of Data
76 Citations2009Michael Hausenblas, Wolfgang Halb +3 more
This work proposes a framework for modelling and publishing statistical data that will enable proprietary, closed-world formats, to enter the Web of Data.
OMV – Ontology Metadata Vocabulary
69 Citations2005Jens Hartmann, York Sure-Vetter +3 more
The contribution consists of a proposal for a metadata standard, so called Ontology Metadata Vocabulary (OMV) which is based on discussions and agreement in the EU IST thematic network of excellence Knowledge Web.
Lecture notes in computer scienceSemantic Sitemaps: Efficient and Flexible Access to Datasets on the Semantic Web
59 Citations2008Richard Cyganiak, Holger Stenzhorn +3 more
It is shown how this protocol enables an extended notion of authoritative information across different access methods, and provides a simple and effective solution to efficient discovery and high-performance retrieval by clients and search engines.
Briefings in BioinformaticsLinked data and provenance in biological data webs
39 Citations2008J. Zhao, Alistair Miles +2 more
The use of named resource description framework (RDF) graphs at different levels of granularity to make provenance assertions about linked data are illustrated and demonstrated to support requirements including data currency, integrity, evidential support and historical queries.
Microsearch: An Interface for Semantic Search
33 Citations2008Peter Mika

A Performance and Scalability Metric for Virtual RDF Graphs
17 Citations2007Michael Hausenblas, Wolfgang Slany +1 more
This work addresses performance and scalability issues (PSI) by proposing a metric for virtual RDF graphs on the Semantic Web—in contrast to a local RDF repository, or distributed, but native RDF stores.
