Abstract
A number of problems arise when marketing is taught in developing countries. In this article, difficulties relating to the selection of textbooks and cases, availability of marketing information, relevancy of marketing concepts, communication requirements, and attitudes toward marketing are considered. Specific examples of these problem areas are offered from marketing education in Saudi Arabia Many of the solutions point to the need to adapt the marketing discipline to the needs and wants of students in developing countries.
