The significance of tour operators on the recovery of destinations hit by crisis is analyzed and recommendations are offered of the steps that can be taken by the destination itself to become re-established on the international market.

Abstract

Tour operators today play a very important role in creating the images of destinations. In this global capacity, they can significantly influence international tourism flows towards a country hit by safety and security risks. Even decisions of individual tourists on where to spend a holiday very often depend on the attitude and practice of tour operators towards a particular destination. This paper analyzes the significance of tour operators on the recovery of destinations hit by crisis. Recommendations are offered of the steps that can be taken by the destination itself to become re-established on the international market. Tour-opérateurs et destination sûreté. De nos jours les tour-opérateurs jouent un rôle très important dans la création de l'image des destinations touristiques et peuvent fortement influencer le cours du tourisme international vers les pays avec des problèmes de sûreté et de sécurité. Même les décisions prises par des touristes individuels sur les lieux où ils passeront leurs vacances dépendent très souvent du comportement des tour-opérateurs envers une destination particulière. Ce document analyse l'importance des tour-opérateurs dans la relance des destinations touristiques touchées par la crise. Des recommandations sont également faites quant aux pas que les destinations touristiques elles-mêmes doivent suivre afin de retrouver leur position sur le marché international du tourisme.
