Abstract

This paper reports a small empirical investigation of the relationship between a selection of pertinent managerial characteristics and different measures of export performance. The results show that certain characteristics are associated with export success, in particular export growth and export profitability. The managerial implications of the findings are outlined and suggestions for future research are made.
