Abstract

Marketing requires an understanding of consumer psychology that is applied to interventions in particular situations of interest. There are two alternative approaches to this. Effects application searches for correspondence with important factors in marketing situations. Theory application seeks to select and further test theories that are relevant explanations of how marketing situations work.
