Abstract
Perceived general self-efficacy of a sample of 87 university students performing a job simulation task was hypothesized to moderate the relationship between task preview exposure and task performance and between task preview exposure and task self-efficacy. Two types of task previews (Favorable and Realistic) were used to test the proposed relationship. Using moderated regression analyses, significant General Self-Efficacy × Task Preview condition interaction effects were found for task performance. Task self-efficacy was significantly predicted by the levels of task preview condition. Implications for Realistic Job Preview research are discussed.
